The series « Entering Belfast » explores the Northern Irish city, which is segmented in to Catholic and Protestant districts. Each district flies the colors of its political and religious convictions, with both catholic and protestant communities delimiting their territory by affixing in the street the colors of their flag. Beyond a simple display of identity and convictions, these many virtual walls divide into specific areas the space of the city, and generally all of Northern Ireland. The use of black and white neutralizes the reading, and visually throws doubt on these identification marks of the territory.
